Doland FFA Chapter Update
Feb 25, 2021
In honor of National FFA Week, we are updating you on our area FFA chapters. This edition goes out to our Doland FFA Chapter in Doland, SD.
Doland FFA: Doland, SD
At Full Circle Ag, we are big supporters of FFA. We spoke with Bailey Coats, Doland FFA advisor about FFA Week 2021 and what is going on with the Doland Chapter. On FFA Week, Mrs. Coats said: “To celebrate National FFA Week this year, our chapter is hosting dress up days for our students, Ag Olympics for grades K-12, teacher and school staff “room service” providing snacks and drinks. We will be capping off the week with a teacher and community appreciation breakfast on Friday morning in the school lunchroom. We would normally kick off our week of celebration with our alumni chapter’s annual prime rib dinner and auction, however, due to COVID precautions, we decided not to hold this year’s event.”
The Doland Chapter has been busy lately, according to Mrs. Coats: “Our chapter just finished up a service project benefitting our school. We compiled six winter vehicle safety kits to be placed in each of our school’s vehicles, thanks to a grant from the SD FFA Foundation. Each kit contains items such as booster cables, a first aid kit, flashlight, blankets, windshield scrapers and more. We have also participated in the first ever virtual LDE contests this fall and took our ag structures class to Lennox to tour a sawmill.”
The Doland Chapter seems to have navigated the pandemic well and is looking forward. Mrs. Coats highlighted this: “While our year does not seem to have been ideal, we’re still pushing for excellence! Our goal this year is to simply make the most of what we have. We have used the “time off” to work on improving our knowledge regarding FFA contests and have taken the opportunity to relax and have some fun!”
The Full Circle team is impressed by the work the Doland FFA Chapter has been putting in and looks forward to seeing what else they accomplish!
