Fill Your Tanks at Night...But Why?

Dec 20, 2019

If you are putting your equipment in a heated shop at night, it is imperative that you fill your fuel tank at night...but why?

This prevents condensation from forming inside your tank and getting water in the fuel. A drop of water in the older diesel was not a big deal. A drop in the ULSD expands to approximately the size of your hand creating a much larger issue with water in the fuel. Also, if you have a monitored tank, the monitors read in the overnight. If you fill in the morning the monitor does not read until the following night again.
Filling at night allows the AFD system to be more responsive to your usage.

I would like to to thank all our producers for their patience with FCA this harvest. We did have to quit hauling propane to dryers for about 4-5 days across our trade territory this year and were limiting fills for a short period due to supply issues beyond our control. The fact that heating season also started to ramp up at the same time made it necessary that we keep enough supply on hand to keep people warm. Since that time, we have been able to keep on top of our usage. We are working on some scenarios to hopefully prevent this from happening in the future. So once again, THANKS!
