Weekly Insights - September 27, 2018

Fall weather has definitely arrived. Cooler temps, shorter days, harvest, and snow. Did I just say that four letter word? Yup one of the local news channels predicted a possibility of light snow over the weekend last night. When they said that I tuned out and refused to listen to such gibberish. Let me remind them it is September.

Once again OPEC and President Trump are making headlines. The President has recently tweeted that it is Saudi Arabia’s fault the price of oil is climbing because of their stance on production. Over the weekend OPEC, Russia, and Mexico met in Algeria with the conclusion that production will stay the course with no increase. The result of this was a rapid up tick in crude and product prices Monday and Tuesday…to the tune of about .07 cents. Wednesday was a mild day with a very slight dip in the market. The general consensus today is that with OPEC’s decision inventory will get tighter and prices will continue on a steady upward drift. I have to agree, but we all know that any slight blip in the media can change things drastically.

Have a safe harvest and thanks for your patronage.
